Healing Ministry
Following a Lent Course on the healing ministry of the Church, the LMT was asked to explore how this ministry could be developed within the Team Ministry. The LMT now share in leading a quarterly service of healing with the laying on of hands at St Mary’s, Tenbury Wells. This is a quiet and reflective service that has been well supported since it began in 2005.
Listening Ear
The LMT enabled this pastoral visiting group to be set up and to share in the pastoral ministry of the Team. The group is made up of people who have been identified as having the gift of listening and being able to be with people in different situations. When invited, the group also does bereavement visiting across the Team. The Team Secretary co-ordinates the work of Listening Ear.
Home Communions
In the Team area there are three residential care homes and two sheltered housing complexes. Each have a monthly service of Holy Communion. This ministry is shared by the LMT and it is hoped that in time more lay people will become involved in this vital ministry. There are also individuals that receive communion at home.
