Coreley with the Knowle

coreleyThe parish of St Peter’s Coreley is located on the SE slopes of Clee Hill, is a rural area with the main employment being agriculture. The majority of people have to travel outside the parish for work.

The population includes all age groups from school children to senior citizens – the children have to travel to Clee Hill for primary education and Cleobury Mortimer for secondary.

As well as St Peter’s Church, the parish includes a Mission Room at The Knowle. St Peter’s was built c1200AD and whilst the original tower and steeple remain the rest of the building was rebuilt during the 1600s.

At present St Peter’s has two services each month – one each of Holy Communion and Evensong – and The Knowle, one service of Holy Communion. All services are Common Worship.

The PCC organise regular coffee mornings in the Memorial Hall which have become a social focal point for the village. The village has a vibrant Junior Football Club and together with the PCC and the Memorial Hall committee, organise several social events each year.
