President Marina Clent welcomed members at the May Meeting, 16 were present, the meeting got on the way, minutes were read and the meeting continued with the other business.
Marina, Monica and Ann attended the Annual Council Meeting at Shrewsbury, they had a wonderful day. There will be a fair at Stone House Bitterley on 17th July, cost £3. The Group Supper which is a few months away will be on October 26th. Our speaker Colin Purdy was unable to attend as planned so Alison kindly got a replacement, John Hughes. We were shown some lovely slides on his visit to Rome, beautiful places; also some breathtaking views of Snowdonia and Betwys y Coed and the mountain train ride. John concluded the afternoon about a trip to Rhyader to see the Red Kites. John was thanked by Jean. Refreshments were provided by Alison and Jean; the raffle was won by Ann Brewster; in the competition, ‘D’, were 1st Ann, 2nd Maggie and 3rd Ivy. Ruby and Maggie ran the Stall.
