March 9th was a fine day for the volunteers from the Caring for God’s Acre team, who arrived to spend the day doing sterling work in the churchyard. They cleared away the dead silver birch, apple tree and dying holly, previously felled at a cost of £150, cleared away the brambles and made a bonfire. They brought a picnic lunch and a well deserved tea was provided. It was a very convivial occasion with much fun and laughter. Our churchyard is now looking very trim and all ready for the wild flowers to bloom once more in all their glory. We thank them all very much and look forward to welcoming them, this time as visitors to enjoy tea and a leisurely potter in the churchyard among the results of their exertions.
