The December meeting was down in numbers as several of our members were away. The meeting got on the way and with the minutes of the last meeting read and signed correct, our chairman Marina Clent announced that the new Convener for Ludlow South is Mary Jane Miller of Bitterley W.I. A bottle of wine is being sent to Christine Hollick to say thank you for printing our programmes and Savings Cards.
Alison Osborne is to stand as our Vice President, Jean Cooke was appointed by Alison to welcome guests and speakers. Our New Year’s lunch will take place at The Squirrel, Ludlow, on January 4th at 12.30 for 1pm – everyone to bring a mystery parcel. Our first meeting will be on February 1st at 2pm at Clee Hill Recreational Rooms; visitors welcome.
Our speaker for the afternoon was Alison who once again showed her talent. She made a Lemon Freezer Cake and an Australian Chocolate Cake. All members had a piece of each and they were delicious.
The competition ‘Gold’ was won by Maggie Beddoe, runner up Margaret Hanley and third Alison Osborne. The raffle was won by Monica Green, refreshments by Monica and Maggie.
In the evening we met at Caynham and Ashford Village Hall with other W I members of Ludlow South. It was a very enjoyable evening with readings from WI members, singing of Christmas carols and with lovely refreshments, mince pies and wine served by Caynham and Ashford W I.
