On Monday October 19th a goodly number of parishioners assembled at St. Mary’s, Tenbury, to meet and greet Bishop Alastair, as I say, although we were a goodly number during the course of lunch, which was provided by the good ladies from St. Mary’s and others, most people were able to exchange a few words with Bishop Alastair.
It must be something of an ordeal to have to make conversation with complete strangers, all eager for a word, whilst trying to eat your lunch at the same time. Bishop Anthony was more or less local, Bishop Alastair, like Bishop John comes from afar. We hope to welcome him here before long. At all events it won’t be the eight hundred years that elapsed between bishops as it was between Bishop John Saxby’s visit to us and his Episcopal predecessor.
