As usual, St Mary’s Burford hails the birth of Jesus by seeing in Christmas during the service of Midnight Mass that begins at 11.30pm on Christmas Eve. All are welcome to join us. With Tom Cheese making sure that the bells ring out across the fields, sitting in a church lit by oil lamps and candlelight and using the traditional words of the Book of Common Prayer, time always seems to stand still for a short while as we find peace after the hustle and bustle of the preparations for Christmas.
