Festival of Light

Judging from the happy faces on the 4th October and the complimentary remarks later on, Dave’s ‘Festival of Light’ was a roaring success. It is always a toss up whether an event taking place in a way out country village will succeed or fall flat on its face. Dave and Elaine need not have worried as from tea time onwards people arrived to potter around the Church and Churchyard, during the course of which some learned to dowse from experienced dowsers, to partake of the generous ploughmans provided by Jan, Elaine and Elaine’s mother Barbara and downing copious draughts of Peter’s Mahorral Cider.

The entertainment which comprised ambient music (that means quiet relaxing sound), fascinating images projected onto a huge screen and extraordinary light effects provided by UtopiaXO was exciting and different. Turner Prize winners look to your laurels. When it comes to conceptual art, UtopiaXO will give you a jolly good run for your money. Good on you Dave and Elaine as the saying goes, we await your next contribution to the cultural life of the neighbourhood with great interest.
