Clee Hill W.I.

Monday 28th September was the group meeting with Clee Hill the hosts for the evening. A group called “Eight in a Bar” came to entertain us and entertain us they certainly did with barber shop, duets, solos, jokes, Flanders and Swan, an earthy muck spreading song. We all joined in the Sing-a- long and we also had a very good magician, a very clever man. There was much laughter and everyone agreed it had been a good old fashioned fun evening. The Bold Gendarmes caused a lot of laughter and the finale had the Eight in a Bar prancing round the maypole which was quite hilarious.

Eight members were present at the October meeting with Alison standing in for Margaret Hanley. Alison Osbourne is standing down as convener after six years; she is brilliant at her job and will be missed. The money raised at the Group Meeting and another event amounted to £210.90 and is being given to Ludlow Hospital towards the new Dialysis Machine.

Our guest speakers were Barbara Bulgin and Ann Hornsby who gave a very interesting talk and showed some lovely slides on their holiday together in China, Vietnam, Laos and many more places; the buildings were beautiful.

We urgently need new members to keep our W I going in 2010. If anyone is interested, would you please come along to meet us at the Recreation Room in High St, Clee Hill, on November 2nd at 2pm. We are a very friendly group and it would be a shame to see it close after 92 years – we need your support. Refreshments were served by Monica and Maggie; Competition Black winner was Ivy Banks, Pat Parker second, Maggie Beddoe third; the raffle was won by Ruby Walker; the stall was run by Ruby and Maggie.
